I started with the Indian god of Love, Kamadeva  because of a story I read from one of the students this week. Kamadeva is usually portrayed with a bow that has a string of honey bees, and then an arrow with a bunch of different flowers. From there I clicked on one of the trees that produces one of the flowers, the Ashoka Tree . That click was pretty uneventful because it turns out theirs two different types of plants that come from that tree so then I clicked on Saraca Asoca which is a flower that falls in the legume family! This tree is usually related to yakshmi who is mythical being in hindu culture that is usually portrayed in a statue under the tree with his foot on the base! Yakshmi Statue

Tech Tip: Pinterest Board

Image
I have been using Pinterest for a few years now, and it all started when my sister showed me that I could create boards with my favorite things So I created boards for my favorite celebrities, my clothing styles, and even boards with pins that made me laugh. As time went on I started using Pinterest for DIY projects, costumes, and even workout plans. As I've gotten older my pointers has even started having a board with my future wedding ideas.  My India Epics Portfolio

Famous Last Words: #StruggleBus

Image
This past week I have realized that I have officially stepped onto the Struggle Bus. Before this week managing my 18 hours, work, interning, volunteering, and personal relationships was going well and then week 4 hit.. The beginning of the week I stuck to my normal schedule, and then some unexpected things hit in my internship and other online classes that diverted my attention away from this course this week. I actually missed writing my week four story, and I'm planning on writing a week 4 story later tonight just so everyone has something to comment on next week. Needless to say, I'm not all that proud of the work I put into this week, but I made up for missed assignments through extra credit. I also started the week realizing I did the week 4 project assignment last week, and I was super excited about my idea that it was impossible for me to back track to last weeks and be creative because I was sold on my story project that I had already came up with. This past week ...

Hold up. Wait a minute. Put a little Review in it!

Because I have a fear of losing all my course work I have my documents not only on my blog, but also saved to my google drive, my documents on my computer, and then those documents have been saved on my external hard drive. When you're a senior you take extraordinary precautions to ensure your 4 years at OU doesn't turn into 5+. I'd have to say my favorite thing from the announcements this week was definitely the little cartoon clip. I relate 100%. I have multiple mental breakdowns when doing my class projects.. Some may say I'm a perfectionist but I disagree.  Cartoon

Reading Notes: Ramayana, Part D

Kumbhakarna:  This epic was interesting to me and really made me think of a Kid who couldn't wake up to his alarm. I think it might be cool to Make it all a dream and that through out the entire dream he is being interrupted by multiple things, and then he loses the 'fight' between sleep and being awake, and his dream has to be over. Ravana and Lakshmana: As I read this epic all I could think about is when you play multiplayer in COD and have to revive players. It might be a fun idea to write a story of two soldiers from the game going through and beating each level, but then something goes wrong in the last level and the other partner has to revive him so they can win the game, and then they kill their enemy as he is trying to revive his partner. Sugriva and Hanuman: I love a character in disguise. I think Hanuman's ability to transform into anything is really cool. While reading this epic I realized I could go a couple different directions. I could continue my fairy tale storyline and turn Hanuman into a fairygod mother for one or both of the princesses! If I wanted to ditch the storyline I have going I could create a super hero league and Rama and Lakshmana are two super heroes in need of a new member to defeat the evil Robot Monster. Hanuman's super power would be shape shifter. Hanuman's Leap: The Entire Time I was reading this epic all I could think of was a pole Vaulter or Long Jumper competing in a really big meet. So I thought it would be cool to broaden my story horizons and ditch the fairytales and go for a real world example and turn Hanuman into an athlete!
