Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Image
Feedback in . The comments classmates have been leaving on my comment wall have been helpful and encouraging! I wasn't really sure how people would feel about a fairytale theme for stories, but they seem to be liking it. The most helpful comments have been ones that have suggested giving backgrounds for characters, adding more characters, and also making my dialogue match the 'era' my story is set in. Those are practical things that I've been able to add in my new stories, and also edit when I am revising my older ones!  2. Feedback out . I think my feedback has been decent. I'm really terrible at being an active reader and noticing things that need to be fixed. That's probably been the biggest challenge, so I've had to start taking notes while I read. I have learned a lot from other people's projects. My classmates are way better at using dialogue in their stories than me, so I've been working on that!  3. Blog comments . I have loved gett...

Week 8 Progress

Image
Looking Back: I am really happy with my progress. I have 208/205 needed for an A at this point in the semester, which to me sounds pretty good. I do have a routine that I've been doing every week, but recently I quit my job so I think my routine will look a little different since I have more time to do homework now. I think I may try to do more extra credit options every week just to get more ahead with my points. If I can finish this class a little early I think that will help me a lot at the end of the semester when it gets stressful again. Looking Forward: I think I want to try getting all my assignments done before the weekend just so that I have more time to do fun things. These past 7 weeks I've done homework every day except for Saturdays, which has been miserable. I don't have class MWF so I should be out doing exciting things and enjoying senior year! Image

Week 8 Reading and Writing

Image
Looking back: I've really been enjoying this semester, and all the stories I have been reading. I would have to say I prefer the Ramayana over the Mahabharata. I'm finding it harder to follow the stories in the Mahabharata since there are so many different characters. My class notes have been really helpful with my writing. I've pretty much followed through with writing a story over what I took notes for, except this week I failed to write a story. My favorite part of the semester has definitely been the portfolio project. I remember being bummed when my schedule didn't allow me to do the storybook project, but I have loved getting to rewrite some of my original stories for my portfolio. I'm really proud of my website and my stories. Everyone seems to enjoy reading them, which is a plus! Image: This image would definitely have to be my favorite one that I have used so far. Every time I'm writing about a fairytale I just imagine myself in this place and the...
