Introduction

Hello there!!

My name is Briana (Bri-aw-nuh), but to keep it simple you can call me Bri! I am an Entrepreneurship Major, and I LOVE it. The way I love to describe my major is that its the "fun" business major. It's all about being creative, thinking outside the box, and solving problems in the real world through a product or service! Its collaborative friendly and encourages team work for pretty much every assignment. I went into my major blindly, but I can't imagine studying anything else.

Since we just got done with summer break I think a lot of who I am is summed up by what I did this summer! I got the amazing opportunity to live in the mountains of Colorado investing into the lives of 16 year olds while walking through scripture with them. I basically got paid to pretend like I was in high school again, and got to do fun things like hike, zip-line, bowl, and so many other things. To change things up a bit I'll provide my summer video that I compiled! Just click the picture below and it will take you there. Don't feel compelled to watch it all if you don't want to. My feelings won't be hurt!
Interesting facts about myself include, but are not limited to the following!
  • Solve a Rubik's Cube in under 2 Minutes (my record is 1 minute 30 sec)
  • Able to touch my tongue to my nose
  • I can sing (will not sing for people on command)
  • My sister and I get mistaken for twins ALL the time, but she's 4 years older than me
  • People say I look like Bailey from the Brooklyn and Bailey youtube channel.. I don't see it
    • Please take a moment to fill out this 1 question Survey
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd That's pretty much me! :)

  1. Ha ha, that is so cute that you made a Google Form for you and Bailey... instead of saying you look like Bailey, I'll say instead that Bailey looks like YOU! :-)

And that Entrepreneurship major sounds great. One of my favorite writers on Indian mythology is Devdutt Pattanaik, who started out in medicine/business but then switched to doing mythology as his profession, and he writes a lot of articles for business people in India, sharing wisdom from the epics with them. Maybe you will want to take a similar approach to the epics! Here are some of his articles online to give you a sense of what he does; it's a great way to work with the epic stories and find new meaning in them for today: Devdutt Pattanaik: Applied Mythology - Business (he does his own artwork too!).

  2. Hey Briana!
That is funny that people constantly mistake you for someone, although I do have to say that you two do look very alike. That also sounds like a lot of fun to work at a camp for the summer. I had some friends that had a similar position and they really enjoyed it too! Also an entrepreneur major sounds very interesting to do. I wish you the best in the future!

  3. Bri!!

How did we live together for a whole year without me knowing that you could solve a Rubik's Cube that quickly? You need to teach me your ways and soon. Also I knew as soon as I clicked on your blog that you would be specific on the pronunciation of your name. I'm so glad that you had another great summer at Sky Ranch! I am so excited that we are both in this class and cannot wait to see you soon.

  4. Hey Briana! Your entrepreneurship major reminds me a lot of my architecture one in terms of creativity and collaboration. I also went into my major blindly and I love it now. Me and my sister also have the problem of being mistaken for twins even though i'm four years older than her. Good luck this semester!

  5. Hey Briana! Right out of the gate, I have to comment on how you seem to be grasping the blog graphics. Good job! Im jealous of your page. Furthermore, I think its really cool that you're an entrepreneur major. I have never heard of this major, but it sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Also, your summer sounded like a blast! I was in CO too. I didn't stay as long as you but I have to agree that there are so endless things to do and see. Last, you seem like a really fun and easy going person. Hope the course goes well for you.

  6. Bri,

I loved to hear that you spent your time this summer in Colorado mentoring 16 year old. I know I could of used some direction during those days in my life. Some of my favorite days when I was younger were the summer camps I attended over the summer. I still have many friends from those days. Colorado is also not a bad place to spend your days. I also really like the way you set up your page as the pictures and colors all look really good.

  7. Hi Briana!

I love that you call your major the fun business major, that is so funny! But you are definitely right about that! I was an accounting major for three semesters and it was not fun... People also always think that me and my sister are twins, but we are the opposite of you and your sister, because she is four years younger than me! So you are in the same shoes as my sister.

  8. Hey Briana! Haha I love the survey you made, you guys do have some similarities! My sister and I always get mistaken for twins but she's 6 years older than me so that's always amusing :-) I love that you went into your major not expecting much but ended up loving it and sticking with it! That's awesome! Your summer also sounds like it was a blast; I've always wanted to go somewhere else, immerse myself in a different culture, and help others like you did in Colorado. Good luck with everything this semester!!

  9. Hey Bri!
First of all, the layout of your blog page is awesome! You have everything organized so well. Also, I'm sure people pronounce your name wrong quite frequently. Your major seems wonderful, you definitely make it sound fun that's for sure!
Wow, I bet living in Colorado was definitely an experience of a life-time! It looks so beautiful there, and by the looks of it, you had a blast!
Anyways, good luck to you this semester and in your future!

  10. Hey Briana! I love your blog! It is super cute. I am so jealous that you can solve a rubik's cube in 2 minutes! That is super impressive. I tried solving one but I can never figure out how to get all the squares together and one square always ends up in the wrong spot. It was really nice meeting you!

  11. Hi Briana! I can't believe how fast you can solve a rubik's cube, that is super impressive. I don't think I could solve a rubik's cube in a day, haha. It sounds like you had a great summer, especially in Colorado. Colorado is such an incredible place to spend a summer. I'm very jealous. I definitely think you and your sister look alike.

  12. Hello Briana! I admire you for how talented you are with a rubics cube ! I could never figure out one of those. The way you have your introduction page set up is amazing I must say. It is interactive and interesting. Also, it looked like you had a lot of fun in Colorado. I have only been there once and I don't even count it because I never got off the plane! Lol! I wish you all the success with your Entrepreneurship Major!

  13. Hi Briana!
I have never heard of your major before, but it sounds absolutely fascinating! But, I think that you would definitely need to be an extrovert to go in that direction. Congratulations on finding something that you love and can be passionate about. It's amazing that you practically stumbled into it without even really knowing what you were getting into. I think that was very brave. And your rubik's cube skills are insane. I have never once managed to solve one, unless you count taking the stickers off and rearranging them. I did that to my big brother's cube. He didn't like that. Best of luck!

  14. Hi Briana! Firstly, I love your blog! You're so fun and creative, suitable for your major so it's definitely great that you enjoy it! I've always wondered what an Entrepreneurship major entailed, you make it sound enticing to learn! That's awesome you were able to experience the Colorado mountains and mentor other teens, sounded like fun! You're such a fun person, I love it! It's great to meet you and can't wait to see your work! Good luck the rest of the semester!

  15. Hi, Briana! I think you are the only Entrepreneur I have met so far. All the other business majors I have met just sound like "fancy" versions of accounting, but a business major that allows you to break that boring mold sounds great! And you got to go to Colorado over the summer? I am jealous. I have only been there twice in my life, but it is one of my favorite places. I just love being in the mountains!
I hope your semester is going well!

  16. Briana, I definitely think that you look like Bailey from the YouTube channel you mentioned. Also, people think that my sister is me all the time when they first see her, so I understand what that is like. Adding the survey was such a funny addition to your post! You seem like a very outgoing and active person. I believe that compassion will take you far in life. Also, it is so cool that you learned how to solve a Rubik's cube in under two minutes. I have never finished one. Good luck in this class and your future endeavors!

  17. Hi Bri!
It does not seem like I meet that many entrepreneurship majors so it is cool to hear you talk about it! It is awesome that you went into it blindly and it worked out so well for you. Seems like you got pretty lucky! Your summer seems like it was so awesome. Watching your video, I actually saw some people I recognized!

  18. Hi Briana! Your introduction is so fun with the little survey at the end! I think an Entrepreneurship major is so interesting. I like that it includes a lot of teamwork and collaboration. I got to zip line this summer, and it was such a cool experience! It’s so cool that you got to live in the mountains. I bet it was beautiful!

  19. Hey Briana,

Your introduction was SO CUTE! I love all the pictures, and the one of you is beautiful! You have such an interesting life, and I love the list of fun facts at the end. My mom and my aunt are also identical, but they are not twins. You do look a lot alike, though! Being a singer is also really interesting. That is something that you can do for the rest of your life, so always find ways to do that! Good luck with the rest of your semester. I can't wait to read your posts and stories, and I will hopefully get to critique your project!

  20. Hi Briana! I really enjoyed reading your introduction, and liked the fact that you interlaced it with pictures. The fun facts were very interesting; I've always tried touching my nose with my tongue, but have not been able to! You're also the first Entrepreneurship student that I met. Good luck with the rest of the semester!

  21. Hi Briana!
I think it's awesome you got to spend the summer in CO. That's where I grew up, so I know how beautiful it can be out there. I'm sure you had a blast. I think its also awesome to hear about someone else who can solve a rubik's cube. Its a neat party trick tbh.

  22. Hey Briana,
It's cool that you got lucky when picking your major- I spent years trying to figure mine out because I was afraid to pick the wrong one. I also used to work in Christian camps. It's nice that the parents of the children are willing to give you money to have fun and teach the kids your interpretation of the Bible. Those camps are almost heavenly- how often do you get to be surrounded by people who believe the same things you do? It's a rare thing! Good luck with finishing the semester.
