Keller, Sky Ranch, Victory Family Church... Just a few of my favorite places :)
I decided to pick three places that have shaped me into who I am, thus making them my favorite!
Victory Family Church: VFC was the first church I visited my freshman year at OU, and after I knew it was "home". So much of my college career has consisted of me being a part of this amazing community. Recently I have taken an intern position with their college ministry, which allowed me to tie in two of my favorite things, Jesus and OU! I spend most of my free time up at the church hanging out with my friends and helping out where I can. Its my "home away from home". This is a picture of my friend Madison and I serving Coffee on OU's campus to invite people to our college ministry!
Keller, Tx: Once ranked the 7th best place to live in the US, Keller is where I have lived my whole life! I have made so many great memories there, and every time I go home I make even more. One of the funniest memories I have has to do with the picture below! I have provided a picture of my old High School's Cafeteria where a HUGE food fight broke out my sophomore year... Our high school made the news and senior pranks were banned for the rest of KISD history! My school smelled like rotten eggs for the last two weeks of school, and the last week of school we were not allowed to carry around backpacks. It was Crazy!
Sky Ranch at Horn Creek: This summer I worked at a camp called Sky Ranch in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. It was hands down the best summer of my life full of beautiful sunsets, lots of laughter, and discipling! I made 10 new friends and left camp feeling high on life! So much joy came out of this summer and so many memories. So below is a picture of my team and I in Colorado Springs after we did a service project!
Ohhhh, Briana, a summer in Colorado: that sounds blissful! And I hope that this class will be a great chance for you to learn about the faith traditions of India. We will be starting off with some reading from the Buddhist jataka tales before getting into the epics, and the jatakas are very much like the parables of the New Testament: stories that the Buddha told to his followers in order to illuminate their lives. The difference is that in the jatakas, the Buddha was talking abou this former lives, so that is a big difference from Christianity. You can see what you think when you do the reading for Week 2! :-)
