Reading Options

Wow... There are so many options of epics to read! It was kind of overwhelming! While browsing the epics the stories that caught my attention usually had something to do with Krishna and Vishnu! I don't really know what that will look like as I complete the story project, but I can't wait to learn more about the Indian divinities. Religion in India has always intrigued me. 


  • Shri Krishna of Dwarka and Other Stories is labeled as a fast paced story of Krishna's life. This story is going to give me a lot of insight on who Krishna is, why he's important, and all the adventures he had through his life. I'm really excited to build my knowledge on this character. 
  • Ramayana: Sita is a combination of a love story and an Indian Divinity! I learned a little bit about Vishnu in my Non-Western Dance class and have always wanted to know a little more about him. I'm excited about this read because I'm a sucker for love stories! 
  • Rama: Avatar of Vishnu is a story about Vishnu who comes to earth in human form to conquer an enemy! What better way to learn about Vishnu than to read a story about a conquest of his!
I'm excited to start reading more of the epics and learn more about these characters!

Week 6 Story: Sleeping Aurrie

Once upon a time, in another land far far away was a king named Hubert. King Hubert was one of the greatest men alive. Not only did his people adore him for his kingship, but they also adored him for his selfless, king hearted mentality. King Hubert was a great king and husband, but he knew he'd be an even greater father.  For years him and his wife were trying to conceive, but time after time they were unable to. King Hubert refused to accept defeat. In the middle of the night he snuck away to go visit Mal, the witch of the kingdom.
