Reading Notes: Karmic Revolution, Part A
I really enjoyed part A of the film. I remember struggling through the Mahabharata last week, but now that I'm watching this video I'm understanding it a little better.
Satyavati's Secret: I was really intrigued by the story of Vyasa impregnating the three different women, and him foretelling what the sons would turn out as because of their reactions. I think this story could be one that would be able to be retold as a fairytale pretty easily. I also loved the underlying tone of not judging a book by its cover, it really reminds me of Beauty and the Beast! I'm not sure If I could make the story work, but I'm up for giving it a shot.
The Blind Bride: A second story from the video that I liked was of the Bride who gave up her sight for the king. I think it is a beautiful, selfless act and I would love to try to incorporate something similar into one of my stories.
Overall, I found the videos super helpful for simplifying the Mahabharata's stories for the parts of them that are really crucial. I found it difficult reading last week because there was so much information. This video gives a little "snippet" of the story, which would make it easier for me to go back and reread the full story if it caught my attention enough.
